Invitation to Cripping Art : Virtual Market
Getting the opportunity to organise with other disabled artists to showcase our art and creativity has meant so much to me as I have been struggling with isolation and despair.
I want to share this virtual market I'll be participating in this weekend with you all and I really hope you can make it. It is my first ever market since losing my job and becoming a full time artist.
Getting the opportunity to organise with other disabled artists to showcase our art and creativity has meant so much to me as I have been struggling with isolation and despair. I have shared my thoughts on Art and Capitalism and share more on my blog.
I have been working on selling my visual art, digital illustrations, photography and fiber art for the past year and I am so happy to share it with you and present it next to incredibly talented disabled artists. Hope to see you there especially as I will be sharing a dedication to Alice Wong at the beginning of the event.
Where? Zoom and Youtube
When? Saturday 6th December 2025,
11pm - 1am GMT/6pm - 8pm EST /5pm-7pm CST/3pm-5pm PST
Follow DIYabled on instagram as they organise and educate to create truly inclusive communities. All the artists participating in the market will be shared on their social media over the next few weeks.
Image Description
A vibrant, dreamlike event poster features an illustrated portrait of Alice Wong in a galaxy-inspired style by @ogrefairy. Alice appears to float in deep purple outer space while seated in her power chair, wearing a red sweater and blue comfy pants. She has her 2021-era face mask with attached tubing. Constellation-like sparkles surround her along with whimsical floating ice cream cones in soft pastel colors.
Across the top, a wide teal paint-stroke banner displays the text: “FREEDOM THROUGH CREATIVITY / CRIPPING ART / VIRTUAL MARKET.” Beneath it, script lettering reads, “In honor of Alice Wong.” To the right of Alice, another brushstroke highlights a quote from Year of the Tiger: “If we love fiercely, our ancestors live among and speak to us through these incandescent filaments glowing from the warmth of memories.” At the bottom, a final bright brushstroke holds event details: “MEET THE ARTISTS / LIVE EVENT / 6–8 PM EST / 5–7 PM CST / 3–5 PM PST / DECEMBER 6, 2025.”
